I was never much of a smoothie fan until my daughter was born… shocker, I know.  Now the convenience factor alone has made me looking up any and every recipe.

Justin came home with the smoothie maker of all smoothie makers

If you ever get a chance to blow some money, I’d suggest blowing it on this.  It even comes with a book of over 200 recipes.  Liquid diet we did consume for the first 2 months of its life at our home.  While I was even craving beef jerky by the end of that stint (just anything solid), it was a nutrient-packed stint.

For moms, especially, this is a great way to sneak in nutrients with a grab and go feature.  Also, just make up fun names for them (Green Monster, Jolly Green Giant) and your kids will love them even more.

Some of my fave recipes-

Peanut Butter Banana

1 banana
1/4 cup peanut/almond butter
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

1 pinch grated nutmeg

2 tbsps chia seeds
11/2 cups almond milk

Pumpkin Pie Smoothie

1 cup almond milk
1 apple (cored)

teaspoon agave syrup

1 cup pumpkin puree
2 teaspoons cinnamon
Dried cranberries (on top after)

Green Monster

  • 1/4 cup carrot juice
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 cup roughly chopped kale, ribs removed
  • 4 small broccoli florets
  • 1 banana, peeled
  • 1 appled, cored and chopped
  • 4 strawberries (without stems)

My mouth is watering just thinking of these.

Even Gentry thinks these are great…

Ok just pretend that cupcake is a smoothie.  Chocolate Icing Smoothie- I’ll save that recipe for next time.

There are so many fun smoothie recipes out there.  Do you have a unique or just pure yummy one to share?

Sorry Jenny… I left the type of seeds out… too fast typing! I am not sure how many calories are in that specific smoothie, but the only calorie sources are really the milk, PB and banana (which are about 100). Depending on the milk and the PB you use, it can probably range anywhere from 200-400 calories. But it’s a great between meal snack or even a meal replacement with all the protein and calcium in milk and PB. Everyone is always so scared of PB but peanuts have been proven to hold off hunger pings. Just make sure you’re getting clean PB, with minimal sugar and other junk! Thanks for visiting!
