Hey ladies!  It’s the first official


So I have 3 things for you today.

1. A workout

2. A recipe

3.  Gentry news… she’s gotta have a plug


We are working our CORE today in under 20 minutes.  It involves a medicine ball and a chair.  If you don’t have a ball, watch the video and I’ll explain what else you can do.

Macon decided to make a permanent appearance on this video.  Get used to him.  He’s in about every single one of my videos.

Which is worse- the burning sensation in your core or my awesome videographer skills?  This was my 2nd ever filmed workout, so bare with me.

  Each week we will be giving you a color challenge.  I’ll go ahead and spill the beans for this upcoming week.  We are going GREEN.  So, add greens to your plate for as many meals as you can each day.  Here is a great, quick recipe Justin and I add to our dinners some nights.

Brussel Sprouts with Apples

  • 1 lb. brussels sprouts
  • Enough coconut oil to cover all the brussels
  • 1 apple, cored and sliced
  • salt + pepper to taste
  • 1/4 c. chopped walnuts and dried cranberries (optional)
  • 1 tbsp. maple syrup


  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Toss brussels sprouts and apple slices with coconut, salt, and pepper on a baking sheet. Bake for 15 and stir.  back another 10-15 minutes or until brussels sprouts are tender and browned
  3. Place brussels sprouts and apple into a large bowl. Stir in cranberries, walnuts, and maple syrup.

My suggestion- add chickpeas for some protein!


In mommy news… I would like to know where I was/wasn’t when these epic events occurred.

Where was I when did my daughter started REALLY eating at the kids’ table?


And what room was I napping in when she learned to scream

And in which Athleta store was I spending G’s lifesavings when she started giving me the “woman you have no idea what you’re talking about” stare?


I thought that stare didn’t evolve until at least 14?

    Perfect perfect perfect workout for today. I got a stability for Christmas and was thinking I needed to figure out a workout. Love!

    My littlest has been giving that look since she knew it was rude. You’ll hear “smiley faces please, Lydia” at least ipince every 5 minutes in our house.

    This whole first year (plus some at this point) with Lydia has gone too fast. From rolling over to walking to running, and the talking.

    My big kids aren’t as hurtful, but still somehow, they’ve grown up. My sweet Noah in just a few months of kindergarten have gone from barely knowing his abc sounds to reading anything you stick and front of him. My “grown up” Madison has gotten so wise and thoughtful in her 4th grade body.
