There are a million posts out about “Surviving the Holidays” and staying on track. Let’s be honest, tis the season for veering WAY off track. My suggestions, don’t punish yourself by jumping on the treadmill for 5 hours next Friday. Don’t refuse to eat something… because you’ll eat everything else and then come back and have it anyways. Instead, appreciate Thanksgiving as a one day event (ok maybe two) and ENJOY! But, if you are adventurous in the kitchen, or just want to throw your family members off, try some of these substitutions on Thursday! For example,
1 cup of buttermilk? Try 3/4 cup almond milk + 1/4 cup greek yogurt + 1/4 tsp lemon
Here are some other awesome subs from My Natural Family
For actual dishes…
Here is a quinoa stuffing
Here are some alternatives to that yummy sweet potato casserole
And I highly recommend checking out Katie’s blog for some all-natural but just as yummy Thanksgiving desserts!
And for those of you wanting to clean up your eating act, but not wanting to commit to an entire month plan, especially in December, I’m in the process of creating a 7-day plan!
You’ll receive breakfasts, lunches and dinners with grocery lists and only need to commit to 7 days. It will jump start your New Year’s new you… because I all know we are already at least saying we’ll clean up come January 1. If you are interested in trying this out, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
