Race 13.1 Giveaway!

A few weeks ago I was contacted by the Race 13.1 Team about a partnership.

May 9th they will be heading up north (they’re NC based) for the first Race 13.1 Richmond Race.  This particular race starts at the Richmond International Speedway.  You run a lap before heading out.  I’m expecting a PR since my inner Dale Jr. should be channeled after that lap.

From their website, here is what you can expect at all Race 13.1 events:

USATF certified courses for all distances

Awards for top-three finishers overall and in each age group

Live race announcer and music

Race-specific finisher medals for all 13.1 finishers

Race tech t-shirt for all runners

Pacers for 13.1 runners

Post-race party with great refreshments

A chance to win great prizes from our sponsors – maybe even a new car!

Plenty of well stocked and staffed aid stations throughout the course

They offer 5K’s, 10K’s and Half Marathons.

Not near Richmond?  Here are there other sites this 2015 calendar year:

Wilmington, NC 2/22

Roanoke, VA 3/1

Evans, GA 3/26

Tennessee Valley 5/2

Richmond, VA 5/9

Greensboro, NC 5/17

Raleigh, NC 6/6

Fayetteville, NC 9/6

Raleigh, NC 9/19

Little Rock, AR 9/20

Newport News, VA 10/18

Nashville, TN 10/25

If you are an east coaster, I highly recommend purchasing the Race Pass.  Run as many races as you can for $199.  Considering some halfs I’ve run are almost that for a single race, it’s a great deal.

Look for posts leading up to this race specifically detailing my training, my fueling and anything else related to racing.

Like rewarding myself with Shyndigz after Saturdays’ long runs.

What a great giveaway! I’d have two decisions to make if I won: Which destinations would be fun for a weekend away, and how hard to I want to work this post-partum body for a specific distance! I ‘swore’ I was only going to focus on 5k’s for the first year… But I could be swayed!

I think getting the season pass is a great deal. I purchased it a few weeks back and already registered for 2 races. Just running 3 races pretty much pays for the pass and a 4th race is practically free. I can’t wait to see what other races they post for the fall season..
